Volkswagen Routan is one of Consumer Digest's Minivan Best-Buy picks for 2010. Honda, Kia, Dodge, and Chrysler are also listed. Conspicuous by its absence is the Toyota Sienna.
It was my experience when I bought my 2009 Volkswagen Routan SEL that I was able to get a lot of value for my money with the Routan. Honda and Toyota did not have the same consumer incentives available, nor were the dealers as willing to negotiate. Interestingly, during the "Cash for Clunkers" program the Honda and Toyota minivans did not qualify to replace my 1994 Infiniti Q45, but the Routan SEL with the 4.0L did.
